Becareful about staying here. My room had bed bugs. The hostel refunded my money (the least they should do), but they could have done more to help me clean my clothes and suitcase.i left douro with red bites all over my body,especially my arms. It's very irresponsible of them not to be trying harder to get rid of the bugs as now I, and everyone else at the hostel, am at risk of spreading the bugs to other hostels/hotels/homes. I wish I had never stayed here as bed bugs are a nightmare to deal with. If it had not been for the bed bugs I would have given this place a better review as it's a nice hostel with a good location but alas.....
The hostel is perfect. A full kitchen and a bathroom are available per room (dormitory of 6 people for me). It is located in the Villa de Gaia, very close to the river and the bridge to go to downtown Porto. The staff is also very welcoming and friendly.
Douro Surf Hostel is a renovated space, new furniture, with surfing and beach theme. A super nice place to stay with excellent conditions. Helpuf staff, giving you all necessary informations and assistance. The place is always clean and well scented. They take service to the airport and laundry included. They do not have breakfast included, but have great kitchens and a super market ahead, which is even better and cheap!The location is great! You may come from underground to General Torres or go from the hostel to the bridge D Luis walk in less than 5 minutes. The Hostel is located next to the Port wine cellars, it overlooks the entire city and arrives to walk to the harbor center in 10, 15 minutes! Excellent !O Douro Surf Hostel um espao renovado, mobilia nova, com o tema surf e praia. Um local super agradvel para ficar hospedado com excelentes condies. Staff atencioso, d todas as informaes e ajudas necessrias, local sempre limpo e bem cheiroso. Tm servio de levar at ao aeroporto e lavandaria incluidos. No tm pequeno almoo incluido, mas tm excelentes cozinhas e um super mercado frente o que ainda melhor! A localizao excelente! Pode, vir de metro at General Torres ou ir do hostel ponte D- Luis a p em menos de 5 minutos. O Hostel fica junto s caves do vinho Porto, tem vista para toda a cidade e chega-se a andar ao centro do porto em 10, 15 minutos! Excelente !
